Seattle Styled Shoot | Spring Wedding Inspiration

Spring Wedding Inspiration from our Seattle styled shoot! Can’t believe it’s taken over a year to get this beautiful inspiration up on our blog! We loved putting this shoot together! Each talented vendor that helped and participated enhanced the shoot that much more! We absolutely loved working with this incredible vendor team.

Leading up to the shoot day, we were all carefully watching the forecast. After all, an outdoor April shoot in Seattle is a complete shot in the dark, but we went for it anyway! We waited to set up until there was a rain break, and quickly staged everything as quickly as possible for our lovely and talented photographer, Sonja Morgan with Simply Sonja Photography. She snapped away and got some incredible pictures of the “new” rooftop space booked through Four Seasons Seattle. The views are incredible!

For styling, I wanted to incorporate golds, blushes and the ever popular, marsala! I did this by adding a blush gown from Luly Yang, blush also found in floral and stationery, and a gold palate with the place settings and table-scape! I wanted to highlight the table and modernness of the space by utilizing ghost chairs and glass tables. Touches of marsala are also found in details such as the groom’s shoes, pocket square and pops in the floral.

Despite the weather, this shoot turned out better than I dreamt! Just look at all of the details we captured and again… the view! WOW!

Family Pictures | Seattle Photographer | It’s been a while since I’ve shared some personal pictures. It’s also been a while since we’ve done family pictures! Since it’s overdue on both accounts, I set up a mini session with my talented friend, Meredith, with Meredith McKee Photography!

If you’ve ever done family pictures, trying to coordinate outfits without being too matchy-matchy, and making sure everyone was rested and fed and most importantly happy before we arrived, is no small feat. Well, thinking we left Kirkland with the perfect amount of time to arrive early, but not too early, we faced a major traffic jam on the way. We were well over an hour late due to an accident blocking 520, on a beautiful sunny Seattle day, go figure! And Meredith was so amazing, she was still able to make it happen and we are SO grateful! Not only were we able to use these pictures to announce our pregnancy for baby 3 on our Christmas cards to family, but we are definitely getting some printed for our home!

Here are the highlights from the shoot and I hope you enjoy!

If you ever need some updated family pictures, engagement or wedding photography- Meredith comes HIGHLY recommended!

Wedding Inspiration | Where to get Inspired

Wedding Inspiration : Where to get Inspired |Designing and styling a wedding is probably one of my favorite things involved in the wedding process. There is so much to consider… different elements to use, linens & flowers, color & texture.. eek! I am bursting in excitement just talking about it! But let’s be honest, as a bride, you don’t want to look like every other wedding on Pinterest, right? You want to be unique to yourself and your soon to be spouse!

As a wedding stylist and designer, I can’t look to other wedding designers in the area or even nation-wide. It’s so important that I get refueled with creativity and inspiration outside of the wedding world. I not only need to be up to date with the current trends, but I need to think beyond what the current trends are and think about what “could be.” I am the one that needs to stay fresh, to give new ideas to my clients and keep them excited about their day!

Style Me Pretty

So.. what inspires me?

  • Home Remodels: I can’t get enough of those HGTV shows. Seriously, it’s a problem! It could stay on all day. Seeing how to transform something non-functional to functional. It makes me want to tackle a huge project all by myself. Even though, little me probably couldn’t hang drywall on the ceiling. But.. It fires me up and makes me want to take on the world!
  • Home Decor: Styling my own home and seeing the endless possibilities of mix and match styles brings out the creativity in me. It helps me to dream and through different pieces create a new style or new look. And isn’t it much harder to decorate a home when you live with your significant other?!
  • Crafts: Being able to imagine and actually get hands on is so enjoyable! Especially, when there’s wine involved and maybe some Bachelor/ette of some sort! 🙂 Whether it’s a gift for a friend or a craft for inside my own home, making something is special and always a reminder it was crafted carefully, thoughtfully.. and cheesy as it sounds, made from the heart.
  • Other random things… like beauty, freshness, my husband and two little girls.

Cheers to Fri-YAY!

xoxo, Dani

Seattle Wedding: Sammye & Dan

If we could advise brides before making their decision on hiring a coordinator, we would advise them to pick someone even if its JUST for the day to coordinate. Sammye did just that, only a few weeks before the wedding we were booked. It was amazing to see how detailed all of her decor was and how much time they had put into their wedding. It was such a beautiful day! Bridesmaids were in shades of peach, groomsmen were in grey suits, and the sun was bright and shiny in Seattle! Ceremony was held at The Oasis and reception was just a few steps away at SoDo Park. This couple danced the night away!

This wedding would not have been complete without the following vendors:

Ceremony Venue: The Oasis

Reception Venue: SoDo Park

Catering: Herban Feast Catering

Bakery: Lady Yum

Gelato: Bottega Italiana

Photography: Non-Fiction Weddings

Videography: Bold View Entertainment

Florist: Maxine’s Floral

Wedding at an Inn

photo

Weddings are beautiful and memorable affairs regardless of where the big event takes place. In most cases, the materials needed for success include only a few real necessities: a bride, a groom, someone to officiate and a wedding party. However, there is one other element that can turn a nice wedding into an extraordinary event. This elusive element is the perfect venue, and to the surprise of most people, having a wedding in an inn setting turns out to be just right for many happy couples.

Explore the Benefits of an Inn Wedding

Many women start to dream about their wedding day while they’re still little girls. They might imagine getting married in a large cathedral or in a small country church, but most of them never picture themselves exchanging vows in a setting as quaint and beautiful as an inn. Besides the uniqueness of getting married in an inn, there are many other valuable benefits to choosing this type of venue.

The Obvious

Let’s get the obvious reasons to consider an inn venue out of the way. Browse the following list to see why many modern women choose to get married at an inn.

  • Welcoming: Inn keepers want your business and most will take great pains to ensure you come away from the experience satisfied with your wedding day. They will also welcome you and your entire party with open arms and a range of amenities to make every bride feel extra special.
  • Convenience: For couples who would rather enjoy the weeks leading up to their big day instead of stressing over the planning stage, an inn is perfect. With your input, many inns are happy to fuss over the smallest details of your wedding and reception such as catering, linens, flowers, serving staff and place settings, leaving you free to tackle more important tasks or just have a great time. Additionally, even a small inn can usually accommodate your most important guests as long as arrangements are made well in advance.
  • Affordability: Believe it or not, inn weddings are typically very affordable. Most of the time, the hosts offer a range of wedding and accommodation packages to choose from and feature frugal group rates for your guests.
  • Personal Service: If you think large hotels are good at pampering brides and grooms, you have never been to an inn wedding. They take good care of the couple and usually take extra steps to prepare a wedding suite for the big night. Even inns that don’t have a regular wedding suite will prepare an elegant room for the couple complete with complimentary gifts, food and beverages. They also leave a lasting mark on the events by personally overseeing nearly every aspect of the ceremony and the reception that follows. In short, their home becomes your home for the short time you and yours are guests.

Charm and Elegance

If the amenities alone haven’t captivated you, the greatest benefit of having an inn wedding is sheer charm. Inns are uniquely qualified as top wedding venues due to their charming surroundings that go complement any wedding style. From their traditional Victorian décor to personal accessories not seen in larger establishments, an inn can provide you and your guests with a unique and intensely pleasant experience. We are happy to accommodate a variety of entertainment, we’ve had a recent couple with a magician, to couples with a large DJ system.

Inns located in rural areas away from the hustle and bustle of city life offer even more charm for couples-to-be. No other venue aside from a private estate can offer as many beautiful and elegant photo opportunities as a well-kept inn can. Indoors among beautiful Victorian furnishings or outside surrounded by nature, your photographer can create the kind of wedding photos any bride would feel proud to display in her home.

Whether your budget is large or small, consider booking a quaint inn when it’s time for you and your groom to finally tie the knot.
