Woodinville Wedding: Delille Cellars | Amanda & Adam

Woodinville Wedding: Delille Cellars | Amanda & Adam were married on a beautiful day in August. This was the absolute perfect venue for these two love birds! Romantic, intimate wooded setting for their ceremony and tented draped in white fabric over a patio for their reception dinner.

Amanda & Adam were one of our many couples planning from out of state, so we had many phone calls, Skype meetings and of course fun design meetings when they were in town. Hiring us for design & coordination, we helped put a color palate and decor elements together to make a cohesive wedding scheme. We recommended light airy colors as they wanted a romantic vibe with a little bit of classic-shabby touches. We had beige and neutral linens to keep a classy element and

Come wedding day, we not only saw all of the elements we helped with, but we saw SO many personal details that Amanda & Adam included which made their wedding that much more special! They had their name and wedding date embroidered on their outfits, personalized gifts for their entire wedding party, they even had personalized coloring books made for the handful of littles in attendance. It was such a pleasure working with Amanda & Adam’s semi-destination wedding (they traveled up from California to tie the knot with their Washington family).

Their vendor team was a dream! From amazing catering team, Herban Feast, to stunning floral by Paisley Petals, and even better dance party hosted by Seattle Wedding DJ, their wedding was phenomenal!

Seattle Wedding: SoDo Park | Kelly & Shawn

Seattle Wedding: SoDo Park | Kelly & Shawn are one of our sweetest couples! They had come to us for a little guidance in their planning and we are so thrilled to have worked with them throughout their engagement and on one of the most special days of their lives! From the amazing talent Shawn has, he created and designed their website and stationery to match. Metropolitan Market provided gorgeous floral arrangements from the altar to Kelly’s stunning bouquet! It completely tied the feel of their wedding together. Having such amazing wedding team to work with, we couldn’t have asked for a smoother day!

Snohomish Wedding: Lord Hill Farms | Bri & Josh

Snohomish Wedding: Lord Hill Farms | Bri & Josh

Working with Bri & Josh to create their perfect wedding was absolutely so much fun to be part of!

Bri knew exactly what she wanted from colors to feel to all the details! She left nothing untouched or unforgotten with her wedding. Lavender, navy and grey transformed Lord Hill Farms. Complete with beautiful bling frames, custom popcorn bag labels, cocktail napkins, all the details were accounted for! It was such a classic and elegant wedding.

Bri & Josh, congratulations on such a joyous occasion! We are elated to have been part of (one of) the most memorable day in your lives! Cheers to you both!

Will your Wedding Vendors have Cohesion?

Just to be clear from the get go, I am a guest blogging, run of the mill, average, everyday wedding DJ/MC hero in the Seattle area.  I know NOTHING about wedding coordination.  I know about mics, performing, music and creating a fun atmosphere.  Yet even from my perspective, there are still a few things that I can point to when I watch a wedding coordinator work a wedding that separates the good from the so-so… despite my lack of knowledge of the intricacies of what they do.

The finished products of a well “coordinated” wedding speaks for itself.  All the technical aspects, or the art of what they see evades me with any amount of clarity … here’s the major underlying thing that I notice between the top and the middle tiers… are they nice?  I can talk about that… It’s important!  As a wedding vendor who works with coordinators for almost the entire “day of”… I’ve worked with nice ones and “less than nice” ones.  It makes a HUGE difference… because an element of a coordinator’s “product” IS the delivery.  They are there that day, working with you, longer than ANY other vendor that you hire.  10-12-14 hours… or more? It’s a relationship.

The great ones insist on having fun.  They can’t help it.  It’s not just “another” wedding/client, it’s fun.  They love what they do, and that is why they are doing it. Passion.  Opportunity to create.  People.  Fun.  They are there to captain the ship and add to the fun and beauty of the day… and they can’t help but push right past the “job” of it… and find something more.  Does their job amount to strictly a list of “to-do’s”… or are they ebbing and flowing with the night, handling what comes up while they are dancing?!? I know, to-do lists are necessary… but is that ALL they do all day long?  Not the good ones.

Another major consideration is that you are NOT the only client that day…  More than ANY other vendor, coordinators are interacting with your guests too.  Your folks, grandparents, out of town family, friends, etc… Kindness is key here. Are they going through the motions?  Just “getting it done” or are they kind to your guests, fun, interested, present, and adding to the atmosphere???

One last thing… near and dear to my heart… is how they interact with the other vendors that day.  Hiring wedding vendors as if they are team is extremely important. The day will still happen if each are just doing their thing… but there is a cohesion that CAN happen among DJ/MC, photographer, caterer, coordinator, and so forth that can seriously add to the fun factor on your wedding day. We CAN all just do our thing.  The clients and guests may not even notice a wedding vendor just going through the motions… but it’s not as much fun and, as the client, you should want something more!  The memorable weddings that people still talk about weeks later are they one’s where the vendors naturally “team up” to put on an amazing event. Great service and fantastic end-products are important, yes.  Please don’t hear me say that I am discounting that.  BUT!!!  Can a coordinator help add elements of FUN in addition to providing a great product?  That’s when you know you’ve got a good one.

If this were a math equation… you can take ALL the positive attributes I just wrote about… add them all together… and they would equal Dani. Period.

It was so fun to see everything transform over time and the unique vision of their wedding unfold at Four Gables on August 18th. Blues and purples, butterflies, and a horse drawn carriage!
